THE HIGH PRIESTESS TAROT CARD MEANING
The high priestess tarot card meaning

The High Priestess sits before a curtain between two pillars. On her head she wears a crown with the three phases of the moon. On her lap is the Torah scroll. At her feet is a crescent moon. Her garment is sky blue, the color of the soul, feeling.

The High Priestess is the antithesis of the Magiėr, the conscious mind. She is the soul that knows the positive aspect and the negative aspect, the conscious and unconscious. This duality is expressed through the white and the black pillar, namely:

Jakin - Activity and consciousness (the light pillar)
Boaz - Passivity and mystery (the black pillar)

Her crown symbolizes power, the crystal ball expresses wisdom. The square cross on her chest indicates inner harmony and the intuļtively correct use of the Magiėr's four tools.

The Torah scroll represents the Sacred Law, the Jewish Law, the books of Moses; these also testify to a higher wisdom. In it are stored all memories, both personal and universal. Everything is recorded. The book is only partially unrolled. The rest is still hidden.

The crescent moon, the water and the sea represent the feeling, the sensations, the inner self of man. The forehand, which is still closed, represents the pristine. On the curtain we see the pomegranates and palms. The palms symbolize the feminine, passive life aspect. They are arranged in the shape of a tree of life. The water, seen behind the curtain, essentially represents our soul.
