The six of swords tarot card meaning

A man, a woman, and a child set out in a boat for the other side.
Six swords stand upright in the boat. The man pushes the boat along with a stick.

This card indicates a departure, leaving everything behind.
The boat is sailing out from turbulent waters into calm waters.
The six swords, however, indicate the "spiritual baggage" that is taken along.
The ferryman must be skillful, as he has only one stick. The black stick here is a symbol of latent possibilities, everything remains possible. Therefore one must be careful. After all, the other side has not yet been reached.

The three people can be seen as the trinity in consciousness.

It can refer to an actual change (journey, move) or an inner change, such as a new attitude, whereby one nevertheless faces the unknown.
